The Project

STWP is a 16-year concession for the water supply system at Tincan Island Ports Complex, granted by the Nigerian Ports Authority (the Grantor) to Sandust Tincan Water Projects Limited (the Concessionaire), with the specific objective to refurbish, operate, manage and maintain the water supply system at the Tincan Island Ports Complex.

  •  The Tincan Island Port Complex is one of the busiest ports in Nigeria, handling diversified cargoes with each terminal operator specializing in unique forms of cargo such as dry and wet bulk cargoes, box-containerized cargoes, and RORO services. The port has fresh-water wells sunk to the depth of 250 meters that will be expected to supply fresh water to vessels and other customers around the Port.

Project Objective”

The project’s objective is to accelerate the transformation of the Tincan Island Port, enhance service capacity to provide fresh water to users, facilitate modernization of the Tincan Island Port, boost operational efficiency of the Port, and contribute to revenue generation of Tincan Island Port and the Federal Government of Nigeria (“FGN”).

Our Aim is to Revitalize Water Supply

STWP aims to revitalize the water supply infrastructure and restart its operation after a 35-year hiatus. The project is part of the Nigerian government’s efforts to address the country’s physical infrastructure deficit and promote economic development through Public Private Partnerships (“PPP”).
